My name is Martini Ntunda, founder and lead guide of Unik Tanzania.
I was born and raised in the Singida Region of central Tanzania and moved to Arusha at the age of 16 in search of new opportunities. It was here, surrounded by Tanzania’s spectacular landscapes and wildlife, that I discovered my passion for tourism and guiding.
My journey began on Mount Kilimanjaro, where I worked as a porter before pursuing professional guide training and earning my guiding license. Over the years, I expanded from mountain guiding to wildlife safaris, gaining extensive experience across Tanzania’s most iconic destinations.
I later spent several years living in Norway, where I had the opportunity to experience a different culture while continuing to pursue my passion for the outdoors through local hiking clubs and mountain activities. These experiences broadened my perspective and deepened my appreciation for the connections that travel creates between people from different backgrounds.
After nearly 15 years of experience in Tanzania’s tourism industry, I founded Unik Tanzania in 2024 with a simple vision: to offer a more personal and authentic approach to travel. Rather than providing standard tours, I focus on creating experiences tailored to each traveller, combining local knowledge, and genuine hospitality.
Throughout my career, I have climbed Mount Kilimanjaro countless times and guided visitors across Tanzania’s national parks. From private safaris for couples and families to coordinating larger groups travelling in multiple safari vehicles, I take pride in ensuring that every journey is well organised, safe, and unforgettable.
My favourite destinations are Mount Kilimanjaro and Serengeti National Park, places that continue to inspire me no matter how many times I visit them.
